I know how to sew. I just can't find the right pattern and technique to sew one nicely. Thanks a lot! Smiley

You can turn under the edge and just do two rows of straight stitch, about an 1/8" apart from each other.  Go over them twice for extra stability.

Are you talking about ballet ribbons on shoes? If so, I would just just a small straight stitch. You could use a backstitch if you really wanted to. When I used to danced, we sewed the ribbons on in a box pattern with an x from corner-corner. Most importantly, instead of using regular sewing thread, we used dental floss. I don't know of anyone who ever had their ribbons come off after sewing them on that way.
