Looking for thoughts on it from those who have it? Am considering buying it and keeping my Brother SE 400 as my backup machine.

Hello -  I have the HSN version of this machine (Futura Quartet) and I absolutely LOVE IT!  It sews like a dream as a regular machine and the embroidery arm is fabulous.  The multi-hoop aspect of it is great as well.  If you're looking for a single needle machine that is a multi-tasker, this is an excellent choice.  One bit of advice - get a machine that has the editing software in the package.  I have the other three and the editing software would be a great addition.  And, HSN has better pricing/packaging on the FQ4 than you can find on the XL-400 machine generally.

Happy sewing!

I have the SEQS 6000.  Its actually the same machine as the XL-400 with the addtional editing software...which I highly recomend. I've had mine almost 3 months now and I love it.  If I had to say something I wish it had it would be a 5x7 hoop. It comes with a 4x4 & and a 6x10, which you can use to multi-hoop to do even larger projects, which is very cool.  But a 5x7 would be great for those mid-sized projects.
