DIY Rubber Stamps from Erasers *Updated on 15 Sept 2012*

So I found a bunch of old erasers from primary school and decided to carve them into fun rubber stamps! Enjoy





Whatsapp-inspired designs:


This is a very nice building in Singapore called the Sail (also my dream home!)


And here are my tools:

1. Pen-knife (or otherwise known as X-acto)
2. U- and V-blades
3. Erasers (any ones will do as long as they have a nice flat surface)
4. Ink pad (again, any one will do. Magic markers do well too if you want more colours)
There're stored in a $2 plastic box from Daiso!

Great job! I've never made stamps but have been thinking about it recently, especially since school is starting and I've seen packs of those big erasers really cheap.

Love how you store your supplies!  I just started carving rubber eraser stamps and love it!

I recognized the sail from pictures I have seen of Singapore...lovely job on that one! I like the graphic look of the building and your stamp!

nice!!! how did you do the "love" stamp? with mine, I did the handwriting from right to left (on the stamp itself) but my handwriting is not that good so it didn't turn out to be as the lovely script I expected (but the stamp is still really pretty nonetheless). Do you know of any technique how I can transfer a writing to a rubber stamp?

It's quite easily actually! Instead of driving yourself insane by writing from right to left on the stamp itself, you can draw out your design in the right way, left to write, using pencil on tracing paper (or any other translucent paper), then flip the paper around and burnish the graphite onto the eraser. The imprint will be laterally inverted, so after you carve it out, the stamped image will be right way up again! Hope this makes sense :p
