I am a newbie here and am hoping that someone can help me.  I have searched through the site for possible previous posts but have been unable to find what I am looking for.  I found one link but it is no longer in use...

I am wanting to make this bag for a baby shower and want to make it at 80% original size as I keep reading how large the original is.  I am afraid that I am somehow going to mess this up if I don't ask.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks so much in advance!!  Smiley

I've never made it, but I'm happy to try to help answer any questions you have!

Can you just multiply the lengths/widths of each by .80 to get the new size to cut?

That is what I was figuring to do.  I was just afraid that somehow it would get all weird with the sides/bottom and super skinny straps.  I am thinking about trying to maybe just shrink the main portion of the bag and not the straps but we will see what I actually figure out.  I have sewed lots but never altered any patterns. I will post again if I get stuck along the way and some pics when I get done.  Smiley

Thanks!!

Ooh yes - I wouldn't change the width or length of any straps - you can always cut them down if you want to later, but it's harder to add fabric back on. Wink
