Yeah, she wants an Abbey Bominable costume super bad.  I told her it might take me all year, if I'm ever going to recreate that fabric print. LOL

I love Abbey so much! I've been working my way through cosplaying a bunch of characters.. It's a huge amount of work to do the prints so I can totally understand! I just finished this piece.. Grin (Frankie Stein, Home Ick)

Most of the battle is drawing out the patterns accurately, it's impossible to see them sometimes lol

Very cute apron! (She has that doll haha)  I've looked at your other cosplay's.  How are you making the fabric prints match exactly?  So far the only idea I had for Abby's dress was patchwork, but I don't think that will look good.  So, any advice or ideas would help me.  As far as the patten, I'm fairly lucky with that, since I don't have to do much form fitting on a 4 year old body lol.

I was excited when I started having kids because I thought "yeah, I get to play with dolls!"  Then I had 2 stinky boys, LOL, who played a little with dolls but not much.  What's a mom to do, freaking buy her own!!!  I started collecting a few dolls last year and most of them so far are monster high (except the one doll my aunt bought me).  I really like making dolls clothes, assessories, etc.  When my boys were little I made my little pony stuff, but then they changed the shape of the ponies and made them kinda funky, so I stopped and my boys grew out of them.  My MIL likes to buy stuff for Christmas that isn't "functional or utilitarian", something we don't "need" but "want" so she bought me 2 monster high dolls, LOL.

I've never been in a swap, if ya'll will take beginners, I might join.  I'd want stuff for my dolls, not for me (like jewelry, clothes, furniture, assessories, other miniatures, etc.)

Here are some links for patterns/tutorials for mh doll clothes and shoes:

I had a stinky boy too, but I have a ton of dolls.  No monster high yet, but I love the ones I've seen so far.    I could organize starting February and having sendouts about mid March.  Actually I could start signups this weekeend and ending them on the 5th of Feb.  Partners on the 6th.  Let me know.

Given a cape, tiara and a strong cup of coffee, yeah, I could rule the world.

Thanks Smiley First I'm finding as much reference online of the garments as possible. Then I draw a vector textile pattern in Illustrator. That is what takes a LONG time! After that it depends on what kind of garment and how detailed the pattern are. For the apron I'm working on I used my YUDU to make a silk screen and screened the pattern on the fabric.

I would LOVE to take part in this swap...I'm an adult monster high fan - I was a bit shy of admitting it for a while, but have decided not to care in 2012  Wink Cheesy

I have quite a few of the dolls now - love the style and their accessories are just awesome! I've always been a big 'monster' fan too, so they're perfect for me Smiley

I'm in the UK though...so it'll depend on whether it can be open for international swappers.
