I'm not a huge fan of sci-fi, but that tin is amazing! It's seriously, seriously cool.

Cheesy So glad you like it, Cackle! And thanks for the compliments, everybody  Cheesy

Yes, it was fate, the base is a lamp socket... 2 days before I started making the tin, my old beloved lamp that was my grandma's sputtered out and died. Mr. Nooo fixed it (WHEW!) and I was left with that old lamp socket that was destined to become part of cackle's tin. Oh and the alien city is made from cotter pins, the ones I am constantly finding in Mr. Nooo's pockets when I do the laundry. I guess he helped a lot with this tin, without knowing it...

That tin is hilarious nooo! And I am completely impressed that all of those tiny little beads on the edges stayed on. They look fantastic!
The trick is double gluing... Stick them on with a line of glue around the rim, then let it dry completely. Then do a big line of glue again along the outside edge, almost covering the entire outer rim of the beads.  Just make sure the glue dries clear! I used Alene's tacky glue.

Great tin!!  The sci-fi awesomeness is "out of this world!"   Grin  For some reason, it reminds me of the episode of "The Brady Bunch" when Greg fools Peter and Bobby into thinking they saw a UFO.  (Yes, everyone, TBB is shameful vice of mine.  Marcia had the best hair and Jan rocked those plaid bell bottoms!!)

The time has come
The walrus said
To talk of many things-
Of shoes and ships and sealing wax-
Of cabbages and kings.
And why the sea is boiling hot
And whether pigs have wings.

I am totally filing this away for future use. Double glueing would certainly do the trick!

You people are amazing. It goes without saying, I know, but I'm sayin' it anyway. I haven't enjoyed a swap gallery this much in a long time. Each new tin is so unexpected! I'll be very sad when it's all over.

That alien is awesome.  It reminds me of all those cheesy afternoon horror movies (The BLOB!!)that were never that scary because we watched them on a 13" black and white television.
