Welcome to the Crafting Along with the Kids thread!

I'm a stay-at-home-mom to Ava (5) and Brahmi (almost 4) and crafting helps us to get through the day.  Painting and drawing are some of our favourite mediums but now that the kids are getting a bit older, we're going to delve into other crafts.

I'd like to create a space for us as well as other Craftsters to document projects and share ideas.  Feel free to post an abundance of details and photos as you progress through your works.  Let's make this interactive and fun!

What a fun idea. I always mean to do things with my kids (I have an entire Pintrest board with ideas), but somehow I never get to it. Hopefully this craft along will motivate me to play with my kids.  My children are Nadia 5 (she's in kindergarten), Finn 4(at the end of the month), and Maes 18 months.

What a great idea!  My kids are 12 and 6.  We craft every weekend, doing a little bit of everything.

Current projects are:

With 12 year old:

Terribly Important SOB- personal swaps for both of us...as in we each have a personal swap to do with someone here, as well as a personal swap with each other for this theme.

Ongoing needlework lessons- which are needlework lessons for me, as well, because I haven't done needlework in years!

Scrapbooking, and other papercraft projects-

With the 6 year old:

Lego creations 101- or what kind of "spaceship" can you build with assorted Legos, mom???

Assorted writing and drawing projects because that is his weak point in school.

Assorted papercrafts with a focus on mosaic- works on the cut and the paste skills.

A little early, but we created some Valentine's Day art for our family last Friday.  We used canvas, tissue paper, stickers, glue, feathers, foam hearts, glitter, and a SprayZa kit (which allows you to do airbrushing using markers).

We made some turtles yesterday morning!

Mine is the one on the left, Brahmi's is at the top, and Ava's is the one on the right.

We used paper plates, tissue paper, markers, glue, tie dye construction paper, scissors (Brahmi cut some of the toes off so I helped him cut the rest of the hands/feet), and googley eyes.

Feeling guilty because I haven't posted.  I will rectify that very soon!  Must show the world of craftster how proud I am of my kidlets!

We are crafting again after a while of not, other than colouring.  It seemed like they were never both interested in painting at the same time or Brahmi would move on to something else after only 5 minutes.  We also spend a lot of time outdoors during the summer whereas it gets cold during the winter (-40C) and we mostly stay inside.  If we don't stay busy, the kids will run around the house screaming at the top of their lungs.  Or fight.  Or watch too many movies.  So crafting it is!

I can't wait to see your projects!
