Craftsy has a free block of the month video class series going on.  I was wondering if anyone was interested in doing a craftalong.  The photo above is the fat quarter bundle that they are recommending, I'm going to buy a different bundle or make my own, I should be using my stash, but I don't have 36 fabrics I like together.

I'm hoping to make the January blocks soon, I'm waiting till I decide for sure what I want to do about the fabric.

I signed up for that class. I haven't really looked at it yet, and the thought of trying to find the fabric (at a price I can afford) is somewhat daunting. I know a few others (in the DeStash along?) also signed up.

Yay!  The budgety side of my brain says "do a scrappy quilt from stash", but the other half of my brain says "do a pretty quilt with coordinating fabrics".  I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with.  I'm going to go troll the de-stash along.

I signed up.  will use stash for the most part.  If in December they don't all look nice together they can be made into mug rugs, wall hangings, bags, etc.`

Looking for Mccalls 6337 sewing pattern, if you have a copy you'd be willing to share/give/sell please let me know.  The bag costs $60 and I think perhaps I could make it cheaper/

I haven't looked at it yet either. I probably won't end up buying a bundle of fat quarters, because I just can't make myself spend that right now. So I'll either be working from stash, or be picking up individual fat quarters in a monochromatic scheme as I go.

I still haven't really looked at it either. Not too sure when I will get around to it either.

I'm hoping to make my January, February and March blocks in the next couple weeks.  I moved across the country, so I spent most of February and March packing, living in a hotel, and unpacking.  I still haven't set up my craft room since we aren't done unpacking the rest of the house.  Once it is all set up the blocks are my first priority.

What a fun looking quilt!  I definitely would love to do a sampler quilt like that!

Which one was the toughest for you?  Which one was your favorite?

I love the first one on the left, third row...what is that block called?

hardest was: Friendship Circle Block it was paper pieced, Something I had never tried. Didn't enjoy it much. (third row, third block from the left)

Favorite was: Double Star Block, was interesting watching the stars form as I put it together. (first row, third block)

Name of block: Balkan Puzzle Block

It was a cute little sampler to do, I tried different things I hadn't yet.
hand Appliqu (the hex roll block)
Paper Piecing

I edited the image and added the block names. Hope they are readable.

It was fun and it turned out cute

well and wonderment

Thanks, carolmb!  I love the names...I never did learn names of blocks when I learned to quilt, so it is nice to see them!  I also do not enjoy paper piecing...I do love the hexistripe and the balkan puzzle.
