My adventures in pottery continue...  I made a few serving pieces in class last month.  I'm having fun learning different techniques and playing with glazes.  First up is a platter that I'm giving my Mom for her birthday.  They live on a river and eat lots of fish that my Dad catches.

I'm planning to use this to serve veggies and dip tonight when friends come for drinks and appetizers.

I really like how the glazes mixed together on this bowl.

Great stuff. Do you have to use slip to get the appliques to adhere? I think it is great that you have something you made that is useful and attractive.

Thanks everyone.   Smiley

Using slip to adhere pieces is something we learned in class yesterday (new teacher this session) so I guess I'm very lucky the fish stayed on!

I'm loving that blue bowl as well!  The glazes mixing really give it a unique appearance Smiley  I'm sure your parents will enjoy many a fish dinner with that platter, I love the speckled look in the glazing.
