My house is 169 years old and is very drafty so I went online and found a pattern for a draft dodger made out of plarn. I have been saving used dryer sheets and yarn snips for a while now and so was born my draft stopper constructed completely of trash. I made the plarn out of grocery bags and crocheted the tub e which i stuffed with my trash ive been hoarding along with the grocery bag handles and some bread and bagel bags. It smells good and does the job so I am happy!

I would have never have thought to crochet a draft stopper- great idea. I've sewn some and filled them with sand- but I like your re-purposing way.  I also live in a drafty old house (116 years old- I too live in upstate NY  BTW:)) Thanks for posting!

Great, another thing I should be doing instead of screwing around online.... We just have a (supremely ugly) fleece blanket that gets shoved against the door.
