I'm so happy you liked everything!
That book was such a fun project. I'd never done anything like that before. When I do another one, I may pick a thinner book! I was just so happy I'd saved the "Victorian Age" chapter page to stick on the bottom of the hidden compartment. It was one of my dad's college text books and the price on the tag (inside cover) was $6.25!
Wouldn't we all like to pay that price for text books these days!

Gorgeous stuff, the hoop almost looks like the stitches are knitted instead of sewn!

Oh my, silentblair, I don't  know where to begin!

How did you manage the sizing of the felted deerstalker? It's a brilliant thing, but how did you know how much bigger to knit it so it will still be wearable after it's felted down?

The Basil-emblazoned Kindle pouch is one of my favourite styles. Is the design painted on the fabric, or did you print it somehow?

The knitted viper concealed inside the book is the kind of complex, demented and yet utterly useless thing that I love most in the world. Grin

And you have to put that embroidery in a separate post in Needlework, so it can be featured here on Craftster and picked up by Mr. X Stitch and other bloggers. It's awesome on so many levels that it needs wider acclaim!

Thanks for the love on camezzo's package! Grin
To answer some questions...
The Basil image was done with fabric marker. Those things have made my life so simple!
The deerstalker felting size was a bit of a happy accident. I thought I would cheat and start it before we got partners and used Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool. Then, when we got the questionnaires I found out my partner did not like to wear wool. I was 3/4 done and thought I would just felt it down for knick-knack size.

Now for my beloved hoopla.
This was a practice in texture for me. Such a fun project!!!
I do intend to make a Needlework post the next time I upload pics (When will probably be when I recieve from camezzo this week-YAY!) Wouldn't it be fun if it got picked up? I love the Mr. X Stitch site!!!
PS: My knit nite girls wanted to steal the hoopla for themselves! Nasty, Cheeky Ladies!

It's going to be so great to see this gallery fill up! There were just so many directions to go- I know this is early to say, but I can't wait for Round 2!
One more thing...
On my needles at the moment is a neck cowl version of Watson's knitted scarf Mary made for him...I can't stop crafting Sherlock!!!

Eee, I could never have drawn Basil-it's very cute. I finally checked Great Mouse Detective out from the library because of this swap. ^^  Okay, this is nerdy-Basil fans, remember the climatic chase scene, and Professor Ratigan escaping in his blimp, Basil in hot pursuit? I keep imagining that scene with this playing in the background for the soundtrack..

All right, nerdiness interlude over. That entire package is awesome, from hat to hoopla and everything in between.

Duh-oh! Looking at the photo again it's quite obviously doll-sized, not head-sized! It's still lovely, though I'm no longer astounded at your shrink-estimation mathematics! The felting makes it just right.
