Made these coasters for a friend for Christmas. Each one has a portrait of a differend beheaded queen. It was inspired by his love of England and the fact that I was watching too much Addams Family (all of Wednesday's dolls are named after different beheaded queens) They're on stone tiles with felt backing. I didn't use a sealant over the pictures so they'll still absorb water, plus if the picture starts to gradually wear off over time it'll just add to the vintage look.

Ann Bolyn

Lady Jane Grey

Marie Anntoinette (my personal fave)

Mary Queen of Scotts

I don't know why some of them look like they have spots on them. Something got on them while they were drying on the table, whatever it was I washed it off, just forgot to take new pictures after. I really like how they turned out. I'm trying to think of other ideas to do for sets, maybe one with Da Vinci sketches.
Thanks for looking! C&C welcome.

Thanks guys.

dewshinesdopp - I was actually thinking of trying to find some bigger tiles and making wall art out of them, I guess great minds think alike. I'm gonna have to keep an eye out next time I'm at the hardware store. Just not sure how I would mount them on the wall.

bunny1kenobi - I've already got another set with a different theme in mind for one of the swaps I'm in now, just gotta wait for partners to do it up.

This was a very good idea.  The coasters have a nice "historic" look to them.  Nice!

Thanks, I was going for kind of a historic/vintage/old/goth-ey look. Glad you guys like them.

I love the subtle morbidity of it. As soon as I saw them I thought another series: Serial killers. It could get morbid in theme without actually showing anything gruesome. You could even be specific and do one series with famous cannibals. OK, I realize I'm a bit extreme.
