when i stitch over my binding  i dont really tighten the thread down.   and i  mitre the corners. maybe that's why mine seem straight. i thought they were woobly and  wriggly. guess we are our own critic.

That gumball machine is just about my favourite thing in the world right now. How awesome are all the different ideas people are having with these?
I'm liking the cookie too and it's funny, I'm pretty sure Elvis is singing into a mic but he so totally looks like he's holding a cookie that he's dying to take a bite out of, lol!

I don't double fold over the edges and I don't pull the stitches tight either. I also don't stuff the pillow until 3 sides are done so there's no stuffing under the folds. I like the look of the mitered corners but find I have to really fuss with it to get it to go flat and even. I don't use very much stuffing either, I just carefully spread it out so it's even and the patches get pretty slim once the stitching is done. I squashed them inside a zip lock to ship so they were vacuum sealed really flat, even with a bit of extra fabric they shipped as letter mail across the border. Some of the patches I've gotten in the past are Super stuffed fatties though, those must be a pain to ship. They're all gonna look so awesome once they're sewn together, I'm SUPER excited about that part!

Sloth, you sent me really great patches, Craftsunderground too. My daughter and I had such a time oohing and ahing and taking pictures of them. She's helping me match them up together in groupings, I think I'll have enough to make her a little bag too. She'll fall over with delight, she's always trying to steal my swap crafts, lol.

I got my first lot of patches today, from Mod35tBabe:

the pointless button one is straight off my TM pinboard and the other says "Sing me Soft Kitty" which is a serious hoot, because not only do I like Big Bang Theory, I just sent a suprise patch to someone that says "Keep Calm and Sing Soft Kitty" - it's synchronicity baby!

I just received from craftylittlemonkey!

First off, one of a bird that looks a whole lot like a Blue Jay, but it's not blue:

Then, my favourite... one with rainbow fabric on the front and little ladybugs on the back:

Finally, a fruity one with pretty little leaf beads and French knots:

She also included many beautiful fabric pieces to make tons more patches:

Thanks craftylittlemonkey!!!

Yours are almost done... I've discovered I'm quite slow at making these! One patch takes me, on average, 2-3 evenings to embellish but I think/hope it's worth it!
