I have a small "built-on" craft room that has very thin walls that allows the dust to continually settle down on everything in there. Therefore, it's time I made some changes. I decided to make a dust cover for my scissor carousel.

And this is how I made it:
Trace circle from the base of the carousel.

Add about a centimeter on all sides. (Use new pattern weights

)

Not shown:
Cut out circle and place over carousel to make sure it fits. Cut out a long piece of whatever you're using Height x circumference. Add on a bit to the length. Sew circle to length of fabric then sew the end. I used a 5 thread overlock. Done. Hard part over.
Place sewn cover on carousel to check that it fits.
Now take thin wire. I have no idea how thick it is. I just took it from my stash.

Put the wire inside of cover to make a ring. Overlap a bit for stability.

Check again!!!

Now place cover over carousel to see if it works out and everything is in place.

Everything look ok? Wire? Stitches? Length? Make double sure! (Measure twice cut once!)

Now take some really thin wire (more stash stuff) and wrap thicker wire to add to stability.

Insert round ring into top of cover and push in til it's straight all around. Make sure it is in tight.

As you can see, the wire wasn't in snuggly enough so I worked on it more til I was satisfied.

You want to check the top and sides.
Now go find a place for it. (But before that I'll give it another cleaning in the hopes that I won't need to wash it down every few weeks.)
That's my new dust cover. It took me less than an hour including rummaging and figuring out measurements. Hope this helps someone. And I do believe that this is actually my first tutorial. Please be gentle.

C &C Always welcome. Thank you for reading this.
