I stitched this up for a New Year's Resolution vintage pattern stitchalong on Flickr.  I had a pretty good garden last year, but I think I can have a great one in 2012!  Grin  The pattern is an illustration from a vintage children's painting book provided by Q is for Quilter (she has a great collection and shares just about everything!).  I fused some reproduction fabrics onto my background for the girls dress and kerchief and stitched around it.  I tinted her skin, hair, and little bird friend with chalk.  This is an 8" hoop.

Questions and comments welcome!  Thanks for looking.

Funny, I don't remember being absentminded...

I need a skein (two would be great) of Knit Picks Gloss Bare sock weight to finish a shawl.

Your embroidery skills kick ass too Smiley.

I love everything about this. The use of fabric and chalk make it extra special.

ha ha I love the sweet vintage image with the modern crude saying!

Your techniques are also nice--the shading, the use of cute fabrics, your embroidery...job well done!
