Woot Woot!!!  My wonderful bag arrived from lukenlarry!  She rocks!  I love the owl fabric and the applique that she made and added to it!  Owls are a favorite of mine and this fabric is so cute.  The inside is so neat and the applique look so professorial.  It is sewn on with a straight stitch and then she button hole stitched around it by hand!  I love it!

Next up is this cute stuffie that I will be using as an armchair pin cushion.  I have chosen to name him rollo!

Lukenlarry spoiled me with a 2nd bag!   I think the name they use for these are rag bags!  The fabrics are all themes that I love! I especially like the squares with the lady bugs, butterfly's, birds.  There is one on the handle with a hot air balloon, the batiks are beautiful.   Thank you so much for such a wonderful package!  Yours should be completed tonight.

Beunruffled - That is an awesome ruffly bag. I love the black and white fabric.  Those baskets are also amazing and I bet they will be well used!

Maybe we could get a pattern? Or maybe a basket swap?

Quaggy - That owl bag is so cute! The second bag is also great - I love all the fabrics!

Oh, lukenlarry, you sent a wonderful package to quaggy!  The owl applique is so well done, it looks great!  The pincushion is cute, and perfect for an owl-lover like quaggy!  And the purse--WOW--really amazing.  I can't believe you got it all done so quickly.

Bobomom, that's not a bad idea about a basket swap!  It could run just like this one, with everyone making a basket instead of a morsbag.  I will have to consult with susanab about this!  I made up my own pattern, but I haven't done a tutorial yet.  I found this tutorial online for a patchwork version, for anyone impatient to try making one right away: http://ayumills.blogspot.com/2008/05/tutorial-fabric-basket.html

I am so glad you like your package quaggy!   For once I wasn't too nervous.   I think I used 51 unique fabrics in the 2nd bag.  I made it like you make rag quilts.  I found a couple tutorials to help me out.    I also saw the idea of repeating the fabric motif in applique at a quilt show.  I have wanted to try it since.  And as for getting it done so quickly, my dh was home for a couple of days and corralled the kids.  I had 2 solid days to craft!!  Thanks to my dh.  :*

Wow!  Great gallery so far!

All the bags are great.  I am not a big fan of ruffles, but that ruffled bag is gorgeous!  The owl bag is so cute with the applique and the wonky house is awesome!  My daughter loves that one. Smiley

All the extras are wonderful.  I would love to do a basket swap, those are so cool and functional!
