This is a piece I just completed. The first version got ruined when I was prepping it for shipping. Which was kind of good, cause I did not like it. Doing a whole new one with a total different direction resulted in this one. Which will be mailed out tomorrow. Smiley

This is really gorgeous!  I love the wavy lines you always seem to achieve.  This may be a dummy question, but the tiles are square, right?  You just lay them out on curves and grout?  It's so organic and non-linear, which is such a (pleasant!) surprise with mosaics...

This mosaic is done on a flat surface. The tiles are cut (squarish) pieces, and put into the design. The name was placed first, then the fill tesserae was placed.

And no question is dumb, except the one that is not asked.
