My husband and I were invited to go to a wedding this weekend. Naturally I needed a new outfit. (Guys have it so easy don't they? As long as they have a good suit and maybe a new shirt every now and then they are always good to go.....)
I used this beautiful teal coloured duchess satin

frankensteined 3 patterns together:

The bodice is New look 6557 view E, the skirt is New look 6917 view D without the waistband and directly attached to the bodice.
Lots of beads for a belt detail that ended up being a head piece in the end.

and in the end it turned out like that all together.

I hope you like the outfit. Let me know what you think.
Thanks a lot for your time :-XX

It's lovely. It reminds me of peacock feathers, especially the headpiece.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

Ooh, that's really pretty, I love the colours.  Do you have a closer up picture of the finished headpiece?  It looks different in your finished photo.

Thank you ladies!!! Grin
The head piece is basically just random beading. I didn't do a pattern etc, just popped them on as I picked them up from the bead mix I made. There is a picture here in my blog post http://horrormaedchen.blogspot.com/2012/01/wedding-outfit.html(the one with the shoes)which shoes a bit more of the headpiece. Dues to the light it shoes up different in the pictures.
