Awesome job, Waggonswest!

Thanks. I was pretty excited by using my embroidery machine to do the quilting on it.  That and the fact that the digitizing came out so cleanly.

A sneak peek at the quilt that kept growing....

Each star is 26 inches across.  It is functionally finished, but I think it may get some hand quilting around each star... or something.

Inspiration without application is moot.

So my quick little project has ended up just shy of king size and I can barely shove it through the machine.

Add another with the same problem.

I have a few tops, bottoms and middles, but no 'quilts' because I can't get them through my machines.

Maybe in January or February I can work on that.

Hopefully I'm not being too crazy pants but a couple weeks ago I decided to start a qult to give my mom for Christmas!

Why is starting new projects so awesome and finishing old ones so meh?  I have a layer cake (10 inch squares) in this line~

http://fatquartershop.blogspot.com/2008/08/cotton-blossoms-by-bonnie-camille.html

And it's probably the first designer fabric I bought when I started quilting, and I had used some pieces out of it over the years but still had quite a few left. I found a pattern that I really liked that used 4 charm squares of the same fabric per block so it's like it was meant to be!  I made one test square and then got one corner piece stitched to my every square. So I'm like 1/3 of the way done with the squares until I can assemble them. I never work like this, assembly line style with the whole quilt, I usually just make a few blocks from start to finish and then repeat.

This is the pattern~
http://moosequilts.blogspot.com/2012/04/flower-block-exchange.html

So I've got like 80 small blocks with one of the white pieces stitched on...although in mine the white pieces are a very pale green on green, and the flower middles are solid orange.

Here are a few blocks I have finished for it. I actually have 8 total done, and also have all the smaller block components all cut and have one corner piece stitched on to all of them. You can see the cute little secondary patterns of bow ties and diamonds that emerge when the blocks are put together! Unfortunately I just have blue and cream colors left, so will need to find some more orange and/or green that will work with this fabric line.
