nope.  just me; an internet pic of different invaders, some graph paper and pencil crayons. next time i will employ a calculator too.

i did see her patterns, but were too big for my needs, and her finished quilt was more erratic... wasn’t it?  its been a long time.

It looked super complicated. Yeah I think the litte invaders were kind of scattered, I like how yours is more video game-ish!

I like how the colors are just subtle enough to not jump out at you, yet very clear...how did you quilt it?

Each colour invader line was straight quilted. Differently. Just in the black. So one was vertical. One diagonal right, one diagonal left and one horizontal.  In the larger black areas I just came off the line a walking foot width off. And around the shooter.

Simple. But kinda tedious. I think i watched 10 episodes of community while quilting.

Thanks for the "recipe" for the colour grabbers always. I bought a pack of commercial ones (cos I was impatient and cos I was interested in seeing how they worked) but I'll now try and find some soda ash and make some too cos they def are expensive! About 30c each sheet!

melly--I use them the first time I wash any quilt since most of my quilts have red or dark blues....soda ash can usually be found in laundry or even at your swimming pool supplier...my gran used to put about 1/2 cup of white vinegar in her colored wash to keep colors from bleeding...I am too afraid to try that...the vinegar washes out in the rinse cycle
