12 Quilt Projects in 2012 Along [CLOSED]

Good work amalgam! It feels good to cross things off, right? Are these for your cousins' birthdays or Chritmas or just because?

Originally, they were going to be Christmas presents last year, but as you can see, that didn't happen. So they turned into "just because" gifts. I don't know any kid that turns down a present. I'm a little scared that the smallest of the three quilts might be too small for the cousin it's meant for. She's a year old now and she's a chubby little thing.

I'm a list maker too, fiddlegirl8. Although I don't always get everything done on the lists that I make. Still, I must admit that it feels wonderful to be able to cross off three quilts at once. I'm aiming to finish my car quilt next. I have already done some chain piecing and there's still plenty left to be done.  I like chain piecing. It's easy and quick.

I have a queen size quilt all pinned and ready to quilt in my linen closet...it has been there for seven years...I did one and thought it was going to kill me...I am going to use these tips and see if I can get it quilted this year!  It is not nice enough that I would pay a long armer to do it for me, but it is functional if I do it...sounds like a great class, RLB!

Oh thanks for posting the link!  I would love doing an online class to learn some tricks and tips!  I have bookmarked several of their classes...hey, continuing education in crafts is important!

I think so. I'm not sure though. It's the Sophie car seat quilt.  Now that I have the quilt top done, I really like it and will probably do it again, but in boyish material.

I'll have to go check out the arrow one.

That is the one I did!  For one of the twin baby girls!

The one I want to make for a boy is called "On the GO Baby Boy quilt"...it is adorable and easy.

Have you posted a picture of the car seat quilt you did? I'm interested in seeing what fabrics you used and how it turned out.

As for mine I just need to make and add the ties. It definitely did not come out perfect, but I still like it and am pleased with it. Once I get the ties done, I'll get some pictures.

I finished! Well except for washing it.

I free motion quilted it, but my skills in that area are not yet up to par. In some spots the stitches are tight and close, and in others they are rather long stitches.

Also, for some reason once I had the top made I couldn't get it to lay flat. I must have cut things just slightly off or something. I hope once I wash it, it will be harder to tell.

I used the Good Fortune line by Moda.

Melerrific - I love it!  I have that one bookmarked for the next time I need to make some one a baby quilt.  Though I think I might make it without the ties so it can be used on the floor and not have hte strings be a hazard.  I do love the concept of attaching it to the carseat/stroller though!
