Wow. There's been quite a bit of talking going on since I last posted here.Cheesy Thanks jennieingram for your explanation on charging the true cost for a commissioned crafted item. I'm not nearly as educated or talented as you in this department, but now I have some info I can use in case someone wants me to make something for them.

I'm so close to finishing the first three quilts on my list. But it figures that the one time I'm willing to buy quilt-quality fabric that is already cut for binding, my Joann store has none in stock. Angry I really want to get these done though, so I may be resorting to the "birthing" method (layer, sew around three edges, turn right side out, quilt, and topstitch) just so I can be done. I really don't have the money or fabric for a real binding anyway.Tongue

I use recycled 100 percent blankets for all my quilts now as batting, tho I have used the cotton one from Spotlight and it is a dream to use.

I'm almost done with my amish quilt. I just have the binding left. I should get it done tomorrow. I'm almost tempted to sleep under it tonight without the binding, it is so cozy.

is that the cosy cotton? I bought some of that on sale (plus the 40 pc off vip coupon) but haven't used it. I've only used a poly before.

I might have to google birthing method amalgam. Is it easier? Or just thriftier?

So here is one of the quilts I listed for this year. The wall I hung it from is about 6' tall. At this point I need to quilt it and then bind it. But I'm stuck on what type of quilting pattern to use. Any ideas?
