Thanks. I can't wait to actually use it. I already have several blankets for on the floor so I went ahead and did the ties. I remember with past babies getting so frustrated when carrying them somewhere in the car seat the blanket would slip off and land on the ground getting dirty. Now I won't have to worry about that.

I've made quilts for friend's first babies... but if people have second ones, I think the carseat quilt is the way to go Smiley

I just saw this and thought people might be interested.

It's a barn quilt design contest. They're already accepting entries and stop accepting entries on April 9th.

I have a random thing I need to share with fellow quilters right now. So remember that really big (mostly) recycled flannel quilt I made? Well I wrote a post about its story on my blog. Today I got a message from an elementary art teacher requesting permission to use it in a powerpoint presentation about quilting for her students. Huzzzzzah!!! I am so incredibly geeked out right now.  Cheesy Hopefully some of the little tykes get interested in quilting. Tongue

Thank you for bearing with my non-sequitor. Smiley I intend to spend tomorrow doing marathon quilting so hopefully I will return with pics of my labors.

way to go froggirl! Thats so cool

quick question - what sort of thread is suitable for hand quilting? Do you have to get the special hand quilting thread? What about needles? I'm going to try hand quilting my double sided quilt around the animals whilst I try and find a walking foot for my machine. It was one thing to make do with a normal foot when I did stitch in the ditch for my tiny baby quilt, I'm not silly enough to even attempt stippling a 48" square quilt without one.

Looking for teal/turquoise/aqua, grey and white (or a combo) fabric for a quilt.

My son loves Peppa Pig's brother George and Raa Raa the noisy lion.

Actually 48 inches square sounds pretty small to me, I would think that would be fine to quilt on your machine. Remember that you use a walking foot for straight line quilting, and a darning foot for free-motion quilting. I messed that up and tried to free motion quilt with the walking foot. Not a good thing Cheesy

I FMQ using an embroidery foot (it is round!)...my lap quilts are normally 48X72...I have a walking foot, but I confess that I rarely use it...

I use hand quilting thread with short little quilting needles...they are practically stubs so you can do a quick running stitch...I have a huge hoop that I use but I want to invest in those bar hoops someday (I rarely hand quilt anymore...)

go froggirl!  That was a huge and challenging quilt!  That is cool that someone wants to use it for inspiration!

Looking for Sophia the first fabric and Frozen fabric (preferably flannel, but would settle for cotton) and Phoomph.  I'm in Canada and the companies are that I could order from charge $20-$30 shipping, so if anybody can find some and wants to swap/sell, I would be eternally greatfull.

I finished and gifted my Nerdist quilt this month.  I gave it it's own post... I rarely do, but it was a lot of work and I'm pretty proud of it
