My husband and I were married on October 22 and I made us this wedding quilt.  The fabrics are all autumn themed and lots of leaves motifs.  I did this large scale quilt so that I could showcase these great prints.  I got it long-armed quilted and there's this great leafy style stitching in the brown blocks.  I displayed this at the wedding too and it was photographed by my photographer but I haven't gotten her photos back yet.  The back is a random piecing of the scraps with the great autumn fairy panels in the center.  Am I missing any essential info?  Thanks for looking Smiley

That's beautiful! I love it! Pinning now.

Ps- I see in the message under your pic that you did the California bar exam. Congrats! I know someone trying to pass it now. Scary hard.

Beautiful quilt - you are very talented - I love your color choices.  And I especially love the back - I really like interesting backs of quilts almost as much as the fronts.

Absolutely beautiful! Your fabric choices were just fantastic. I love the use of brown here -- it feels so warm!

Thank you!  It's extra a very subtle plaid brown but it looks solid in the photos.

LOVELY!  Simply lovely.  I've been enjoying the bow-tie pattern for awhile now and I love how you did it on a large scale.  Smiley

Thank you!

Same here -- I saved a bunch of bow tie inspiration before deciding on this design.  I am excited about large scale quilts as a way to showcase lovely large scale prints.

It's a bowtie pattern, very traditional pattern.  It's larger scale than you might find elsewhere though.

Here's a free pattern: http://quilting.about.com/od/quiltpatternsprojects/ig/Free-Quilt-Block-Patterns/Bow-Tie-Quilt-Block.htm

Be careful for directional prints if you want the center bow part to look square rather than two triangles.

Ha Smiley  Thank you!

I'm not satisfied with the back.  I did it somewhat in a hurry because I wanted it finished before our engagement photos were taken.  I do love the fairy fabric though and the quilting pops a lot.

This is just fabulous. I think I've finally found inspiration for a quilt that would be suitably boyish for my partner! Great job!

Thank you Smiley

I actually made our napkin rings, yo yo napkin rings, using the scraps of the quilt.  It was a pain to sew 125 of them but the guests thought it was very sentimental.

Smiley  I forced a deadline on myself (before the engagement photo session) and that pushed me to work hard on finishing the top.  I sent it off for the long arm quilting which was def the best way to get it finished without stress!
