Not sure if this is where to put this but i wanted to share some oil and water and food coloring "paintings".  I saw this online recently and decided to try it out. Its really simple, you take a shallow pan that you can fit your paper inside.  I used just plain watercolor paper for these. Here is a step by step on how to do these.  Hre is how they look when done, or my first attempt anyway.

1.  Take a shallow pan that you have put enough water to just cover the bottom.

2.  Then you mix cooking oil and your food coloring together.  i forgot to take a pic of that part.  I just mixed them together in another container.

3.  Then you use and eye dropper or just drip little amounts into the pan however you like.

4.  then just lay your paper on the top of the water.  again no pics of this since you only have to leave it there for a few seconds and i forgot.

5.  then just lift your paper off, carefull because some of the oil and water will drip off.

This was fun and i am going to try it al lot more with other colors.  Feel free to check out my blog http://myvaliantefforts.blogspot.com/2012/02/oil-and-water-mix-beautifully.html

I love the finished product! This would make great backgrounds for book covers.
