Pretty soon it's going to be my boyfriend and I's 5th anniversary and I've got no idea what to give him as a gift. I haven't really got much money so I was thinking I could make him something but I just can't think what. I can crochet and I'm a beginner at sewing with a machine and cross stitching. He's in his second year at uni studying Spanish and Mandarin. Any help would be great Smiley

Sew a simple fleece blanket and embroider or cross stitch on them your names, the date, and the words for "I love you" in Chinese characters and Spanish.

Find a great picture of the two of you together, and mount it on a matt that you cross stitch with the same, and frame it.

Those are great ideas, Onyxnox!

Following on that thought, maybe sewn book covers with embroidered messages in Spanish or Mandarin? Or a throw pillow? Both are pretty easy sewing projects and I'm sure he'd be quite pleased and impressed Smiley. A pencil case type thing could be another easy project that you could personalize with embroidery.

Maybe some kind of photo mural or canvas with pictures of you guys in the shape of the number '5'?

I always think that coupons for things are fun for anniversary gifts.... good for one massage, good for one night of watching whatever you want on tv... etc.
