I love the idea of silkscreening a childs artwork! Awesome.

I found another, knit kid/toddler beard hat: http://farm8.static.flickr.com/7011/6682315449_2498eb293b_z.jpg

I have the PERFECT beard-yarn (that is not something I ever thought i would say) and could knock a couple out if my wrists don't act up again. That goodness I hld the yarn in my left hand, cuz my right has been such a little premadonna

I have saved lots and lots of my children's artwork -- when we moved I looked through them all and couldn't get rid of anything.  I really should frame some of them.  btw, my kids are 29 and 26!  Cheesy

RT -- thinking good thought for you!

I miss you guys!! I'm almost tempted to jump back into the STS waters, but this last semester is going to be a doozy I think. I don't think I'll be able to hold back long after I'm done with school though. I'm vicariously drooling over the handspun and fiber offered in the shops though! I'm taking 3-D fibers this semester (!!) and hopefully we'll get to some wet felting which I've wanted to try forever.

Speaking of which, we're supposed to get a felting needle - from what I've read, the clover brand is not the best right? Any suggests on brands to go for?

(Back to lurking in the shadows)  Grin

I just buy whatever is at the yarn shop, just single needles (not that I'm some kind of experienced felter, far far from it Wink)  Are you getting one of those multi needle felting deals, those look cool for big pieces of work.  I can't wait to see what you are doing with fiber, especially 3-D fiber!!

We only send out approvals for the first round.  Because the swap always occupies the same slot in your feedback and the points carry over, if you are already in the swap and have sent in your signup for the new round you can go ahead and open up shop Smiley  Once I get the new signup I close out the old round and open the new one (in theory anyway...sometimes it takes me a day or two)

Speaking of signups, there are a couple to still signup before the 15th (Sunday)!

Ok, I am planning to clean up some of my fleece stash tonight. Some of them can be stored more compactly, and others I may want to cull (I think there are some fairly grungy ones that I have had for a while that probably aren't worth trying to work with). I may decide to clear out a lot of alpaca also, I don't really like felting with it. Is there any interest in alpaca batts (I could card them up), and would natural colors or dyed be preferred?

eta: now that all these fleeces are in the middle of my living room, I see several that might be ok for spinning/combing but aren't great for felting. Some could possibly be put into batts, other might be better combed (I don't have combs). These may end up in my shop by weight with the option to spend an extra point per weight for having it carded into batts.

I fell for a gotland fleece and also sent in a registration for a weeklong fall felting workshop, so now I feel the need to clean up and get felting....

Jo, that is a fantastic idea of making print fabric from your child's artwork!  amazing!

I'm going to sit by the fire in a bit, watch TV, and keep plugging away at crochet  Smiley
