Congratulations to all the STS members whose project(s) are in the Best of 2011 this year...atsuko, ptarmic wumpus, sarahj2001, LaughingLark and some of our previous swappers lapoli, sheepBlue, MissingWillow and calluna!  Way to go Cheesy  (hope I didn't miss anyone there were so many!)

wow!
congrats all around~~

I've been trying some of the free heart crochet patterns online,
but they don't come out very heart-shaped -- maybe I'm messing up
bec. I'm a newbie to crochet?
Anyway, wondered if any of you have a tried & true little heart pattern that
you like?

Congrats all!  STS people rock!

I'm with you on the heart thing, kayrun -- I've been trying to tat a heart and have failed every time!  Cheesy  I'm not much help in the crochet department  -- no patterns in my head for that!

I worked on a "quilt" project today.  I started a homework club at our church and we are working on a quilt unit, exploring family stories, patterns and colors in quilts, etc.  Last week I had them create a quilt block from felt scraps.  I'm stitching their pieces down and we'll assemble our blocks on a bulletin board next week.

Didn't accomplish much today -- shoveled a little snow, stitched a bit, tatted some, cooked, napped.  ahhhhh I love snow days!

question, which may or not be answered in the swap rules that i am feeling too lazy to read.

is it permissible to offer edibles in our shops?  obviously it would not be pre-made, or maybe those jar kits type deals?  i don't even know if anyone would want to "buy" such things, but i'm dying for some pumpkin bread and lack the desire to get up and make it - sorta wishing somebody had it in their shop Cheesy

thoughts?  it might be tricky for international swappers?

Edibles have been offered before, usually things that can stand shipping - fudge, candy, marshmallows, mixes.

glad you mentioned the edibles, jo,
bec. I have been craving some black & white cookies.....
Starbucks used to sell them in little packets and they discontinued them...waaah

apparently they are a part of New York history?
Is this in anyone's repertoire?
just checking....
(can you tell I have the munchies here lately?)

If I could get to the repair shop and fix my kitchenaid I would make more marshmallows Sad
I made beer marshmallows for my dad for christmas and tossed them in pulverized pretzel instead of powdered sugar. Any interest in those when the mixer gets up and running?

My craft-shopping spree went better (and more cheaply) that expected, and I went to bed at 830 on top of it! extra sleep AND craft supplies?! heaven!

Thanks! And congrats to everyone! I didn't know I was on there until I read this post last night. It was a happy surprise after a rather yucky day. Cheesy

I need to make a tutorial for those spindles this winter. They are a lot of fun!

I changed my avatar for a while, but I miss my  Cornelius kitty avatar. Anyone know how I can make an avatar that has both? I'm not very savvy with image stuff. Smiley

Took a detour to make some beady things today. I'm working on some dragonfly sun catchers to put in my shop soon.
