Experimental Wire Wrapped Peacock Feather Inspiration Pendant

I normally do wire wrapping (especially my tree of life pendants) but I had a customer ask if I could make a pendant that was like a peacock feather but in the same style as my trees. I really wasn't sure how that was going to work but I gave it a go and here's what I came up with. (Haven't heard from the customer yet, waiting to hear if this is at all what she had in mind or not. LOL)

I used 26 gauge non-tarnish sterling silver plated wire and tiny, Japanese seed beads in several colors. I tried to get the general color pattern of a peacock feather but of course, it's a little abstract. I know if it were actual seed bead work, it could be almost photo-realistic, but this is supposed to be more wire style.

I think it came out pretty good. It was a lot of work and lots of little fiddly bits due to managing all the seed beads at the same time. But I'd love some thoughts on it too since it's something different for me. Feedback, suggestions, etc. appreciated!!

Thanks! It was quite a bit fiddly since I usually do one strand at a time when making trees and this I had all the wires going at once, but with some patience and time, it all worked out.

I really like it! Looks great to me. I have a coworker who would absolutely looooooove something like this. Those bead colors are perfect ^.^

I also had a different idea on how one could do something a bit more feather like, rather than just the eye, but I imagine it'd be super fiddly and I don't have that great a knowledge base for wire working to really say it'd work XD

Plus I think it'd either have to be big, or the beads and wire would be super tiny O.o

Would you mind if I shared here to see if you think it's even possible? It's your thread, I don't want to hijack it. I might have to give it a try sometime.

I was about to stalk the jewelry section of craftster when I saw the picture. And my first reaction (wihout seeing the title or the feather in the picture) "Is that a wire wrapped peacock feather?!" so I clicked (still not paying attention to the title and scrolled down to the picture of only the wire wrapped pendant and said. "That's got to be a peacock feather! Who made this?" I finally looked at the title and scrolled up to see you had made it. I shouldn't have been surrprised! This (like all your work) is really really stunning!
