I have a good friend who is a Beatlemaniac like me. We totally enable each other's mania!  Grin

She was out thrifting one day and found this 45 record of Hey Jude/Revolution.  She was asking on Facebook how to display it and right away I thought of encasing in glass somehow.

Well, we decided to do some bartering for the project.  She did my baking for our church Christmas Bazaar and I made her this...

Biggest issue was sandwiching the record between two pieces of glass.  I didn't want to damage the record in anyway so I was extra careful with it.  I originally wanted to use one of those plastic record thingies that you clip into the 45 record but it didn't provide enough thickness to keep the glass from moving around.  So I ended up cutting a square piece of black glass and gluing it in. I would've rather had a round piece of glass but if you're a glasser you know how hard it is to cut a perfectly round piece of glass... Tongue

The other concern I had was that I was worried about the record getting too hot and melting while I was soldering.  Turned it that it wasn't a problem.   I really, really suck at soldering so I was extra careful to make sure that I let the glass cool before doing any rework.

Thanks for taking a look at my project!

Thanks guys!  Mucho appreciated!

HSG:  I do tend to do a lot with music related crafts, don't I?   ::)Or is that I just post the ones that are related to music? Specifically the Beatles? I'm thinkin' it's a little of both.  Grin

But that does remind me that I had another Beatles piece I've done.  It was a custom order that I did for a friend's daughter for Christmas.  I'm thinking I oughta post that too!

That is a great idea!  It doesn't harm the record in any way but lets you display it.
