Hi,
I'm a newbie here and although i design bags for a living, i just yesterday bought a laptop bag which i thought was fab, urban yet basic. Not very interesting but that's what i wanted. When my techie husband saw it, he scoffed at it (I'll spare you the actual words!). I'm mortified as I'm meant to be the style genius in this house  Wink

Soooooooo, I'm going to make a laptop bag but i do want it to be well padded. Not just thick wadding. What has anyone else used? Do you think cushion foam would work?

I will not let him beat me!!  Grin

Many thanks,
Cazz

carpet underlay could work - firmer than foam too *scuttles to the garage to have a search* Thanks!

I used carpet underlay/mats as padding in a netbook case a few months ago.  It worked very well for me.

There are stores (or websites) where you can buy neoprene similar to the stuff that is used in most commercial laptop bags, but I found it harder to work with.

I've just got my first laptop and want to make a bag too, looking forward to seeing the finished bag. Grin
