Willing to personal swap for art of my doggies!

I made this up in September for the MAF holiday swap for a partner who indicated she liked sugar skulls - I found a sugar skull pattern I liked online and drew it onto a piece of unbleached cotton.  Then I stitched up the skull and hand stretched it as best I could, over the back of a wood photo box I had.  Then I decorated the frame around it with some freehand woodburning, and hand colouring before varnishing several times. I backed it with some felt.  It is supposed to be an organizer for gift lists and receipts, but could be used for pictures or trinkets.

It was a bit frustrating to work with because I bought floss from the local dollar store - they were nearby and I did not want to make a run to Michaels or a needlwork shop because they were out of my way.  Lesson learned - cheap floss = more knots, breaking threads, etc than is worth the trouble.  Go with the name brand next time.

Link to my blog posting on it.

Thank you - I am not very experienced with needlework, but have been lurking in the hoopla swap galleries and it is all very inspiring!

Thank you all!!  I actually quite enjoyed stitching it, and quite a number of my colleagues (I did a lot of it on night shifts at work) liked it too because it was so colourful.
