I have been working on a lot of projects to reuse old denim trousers. I've been making bowls, a cover for a chair, owls and more, but the seams were always thrown away. That was before I got the idea to make them into bracelets. Its super easy and (unless you want to cover them with real diamonds..) very cheap.

If you want to know how to make them you can look at the tutorial on me blog here: http://avsusanne.blogspot.com/2012/01/denim-bracelet-tutorial.html

What a great idea! They look so nice!

I checked out your blog and noticed that you are from Norway... on Craftster I saw on your profile that you are from Stavanger! I love Norge and go there every summer with husband and kids. We happen to have Norwegian friends who live in Stavanger. We went to Fister (nearby Hjelmeland) this summer. The world is big, but sometimes not that big! I just thought of our friends and of Norge, so thanks for sharing! You reminded me of some good memories!!! Cheesy

It seems like the world keeps getting smaller by the minute. Glad to hear that Norway, and Stavanger, brings you good memories Smiley

Those are some of the nicest jean seam bracelets I've ever seen! You put so much effort into the beadwork, it's really lovely!

These are super neat! I especially love how versatile the base is, you could really embellish it with anything. Thanks for posting!

This is a great idea. The seams always get pitched - now there's something creative to do with them! I'm getting ready to make capris out of a pair of too-short jeans so I'll soon have some seams to try this with. I'll be checking out your tutorial next. (I wonder - could you use other seams besides the denim ones? They seem really sturdy but I wonder if other thick fabrics would work too.)

Thank you so much everyone!

I'm sure you can use other types of fabric to, as long as it has a "double seam"

Such a great idea! I think I still have some denim around of ripped jeans that I've saved for the purpose of crafts!
