I'm a big fan of Blake's 7, the classic BBC sci-fi show from the late 70s/early 80s, and it was my first fandom. If you've never heard of it, it was the story of Blake and his crew, a group of rebels fighting against the evil Federation, and it was created by Terry Nation, the man who also invented the Daleks. I went to a mini-convention for it last October, and since one of the guests was Gareth Thomas, who played Blake, I decided to make a little amigurumi Blake for the charity auction. I only finished him late the night before, so the only photo I have is of him leaning against a bottle of champagne at the convention. I've put up a couple of photos of the original - he tended to wear a variety of similar outfits, mostly in what has generally been termed goose-turd green.

I also made myself Og, a creature who appears in one of the worst episodes of Blake's 7. He's supposed to be a genetically engineered soldier, but I think he's kind of cute, and I and many other fans are rather fond of him.

My oh my, of course I remember Blake's 7. It's what stopped me from throwing out the VCR on our last 2 moves. We have the series on tape. In fact it's very likely a couple of episodes will be shown at the house warming party in a few days.

Your amigurumi is perfect, but for one thing: I rarely remember Blake smiling Wink, he was always the earnest type, weighed down by the world/universe. But it good to see him smiling at last.  Grin

Thank you! I know what you mean, but he did smile sometimes. Not in the first few episodes perhaps, but he smiled quite a bit at Jenna, and often in a wry way at Avon.

Hah Blake! He had really woolly looking hair which you've got just right! I think my mum fancied him. I remember wanting to be Cally and being frightened of the nasty lady with cropped hair.   Grin

Yes, my mum wanted me to have a hair cut like Servelan's. I wasn't having any of it. Cheesy

I always thought Servalan was cool. I did try the hair cut once, but it didn't suit me.

I like making curly hair, it's so easy using loop stitch.

I don't really have a turorial, but if you know (or look up) how to do loop stitch, just make a wig in rounds using loop stitch, keeping the loops quite small.
