MmMmm...beads, glorious beads!  This month, we're focusing on our love of beads -- all shapes, sizes, colors and materials.  Your challenge this month is to create a project featuring beads.

You can use beads from your stash, purchase new or vintage beads or even create your very own handmade beads.  If it's a bead, it's welcome in this challenge.  You can apply your beads to your project in any method you choose (sew, resin, glue, melt, etc.).  The bead(s) should be the obvious focal point of your project.

What to create?  Maybe some of these Craftsters will inspire you!

Rules:

• Craft your project during this challenge period (Jan 3 2012 - Feb 8 2012) only.  Projects created before this timeframe will be moved from the Challenge Entries board and excluded from the voting poll.
• On Feb 1 2012, there will be a special board created for entries.  Post your entry on the specified entry board during the period of Feb 1 - Feb 8 11:59:59 PDT 2012.  No sooner.  No later.
• Voting will happen from Feb 9 - Feb 16 2012.
• Enter only ONE project.  Your entry can have multiple components to it.
• If cheating of any sort is detected, the applicable entry and votes will be disqualified.

Originality:

It's probably impossible to know whether your project is 100% original, has never been posted on Craftster, or made by anyone else in the past.  But if your project was definitely inspired by something you've seen before, please give credit to that project.

Prizes:

At the end, I'll set up a poll right here and the first place winner (US or non-US) will get:

(1) their project in the Featured Projects area
(2) their project in the Craftster Blog
(3) and a prize from us at Craftster.org -- any one item from one of Craftster's online shops!

I just recently got into beading. I've only done simple projects but this might be a good excuse to try to advance my skills!

Are melting beads the same as perler beads?

I think all Perler beads are melting beads, but not all melting beads are Perler beads.
