I have been lurking for a little while now but I saw this challenge and couldn't resist posting!  My family has been making gingerbread houses every year since my sister and I were little.  This year was the first year that my husband was able to join in and his input was definitely refreshing.  This year since it was also my first year living in Texas while the rest of the family is still in Las Vegas, Mom made two houses so the entire family could decorate.  My husband took this opportunity to decide we were going to make a compound.  Specifically the compound in Pakistan that Osama Bin Laden was found and killed at.  We made the gingerbread Operation Neptune complete with tactical dog, downed Blackhawk and Santa and his reindeer flying by.  The only thing not edible is Santa and his reindeer and our base.  By far my favorite Gingerbread house we have ever made!  We had a ton of fun making it too.

Thanks for looking!!

GREAT IDEA!!!!  I was active duty Air Force, and I served in Afghanistan.  I looked at the pics before reading your actual post, what can I say I love pics LOL, and I thought,  "Wow, this reminds me of the huts in Afghanistan!"  Well Pakistan and Afghanistan aren't much different, so I guess that's why...

Really Looking forward to being able to participate in swaps!!!

I'm also interested in personal swaps!!!
