So cute.  That book is adorable.

Was it difficult?  I really want to make one, but I was told that they're really tough to make and take a ton of time.

Taking a break. Would consider small personal swaps.

You chose a really pretty book, I love it! The acorn closure goes really well with it.

Thank you! I was limited on buttons/beads for clasps (most of my crafting supplies is back at my apartment where I go to school and I am currently home for winter break) then remembered seeing a lot of acorns in our yard earlier that day Smiley

I was nervous about making one at first, and i'm not sure if I didn't the easiest/most effecient way, but like I said, I just finally had to try to make one! I love the book too! I found it at half price books for two dollars in the Collectable section (published in 1915- about a young orphan girl who gets a mysterious offer from a rich gentleman who pays for her way through college with a "very generous monthly allowance" -$35 ha! Smiley. The only thing she must do is write him a letter monthly to tell him of her progress and life. The book is a collection of all the letters. She calls him Daddy Long Legs because he wanted to stay annonymous, but she once caught a look at his shadow and saw that he had long legs and arms). It was interesting shopping for a book based on only judging the book by its cover Wink I was looking for a book cover that matched the fabric I already had from making the cushion inside a box and found a pretty good match Smiley

I forgot that I have "in progress" pictures that I will post too. I took the pages out to begin with then cut out a rectangle piece of fabric for the inside lining. I used some cut out strips of a microwave dinner box and layered them together with glue to give the spine of the book more support. Then, I cut out triangle-ish shapes and attached them with basic craft glue . Next, I glued on the inner lining and added the leather chord and small hemp braid and acorn.

That is soo pretty!  I, too, love your acorn closure, and the cover of the book.  And the fabric for that matter, it's just all-round lovely.

Also, thanks for putting in the book description.  Looking at the pictures I was like "Daddy Long Legs, never heard of that"  (I also really don't like actual daddy long legses/legs') but when I got to the bit about writing to 'Daddy Long Legs' some childhood memories rekindled, I actually really liked that book.

So, to conclude, ACENESS!!

This is absolutely gorgeous.
The fabric looks really nice with the book cover.
This is a purse that if I saw that, the first thing that I would think is, "I want that."
It's amazing. And cool. And a whole bunch of other synonyms.
