Sharalee-
I love the cat idea! I see you mentioned that you don't use the sewing machine.. I am trying to picture what you do.. If that what you do. Cut two squares, and start doing the edges, and stuff with batting or whatever you use as you go along. I know some people prefer to embellishment the front first before or after the embellishment to show some of the puffiness from the batting.
On the Teesha Moore videos. She sewed the "poptarts" (as what you guys say, or pillows) all 4 corners on the sewing machine then she does the edges with colorful embroidery threads.
Care to explain? I feel stupid trying to explain my theory/ process of this! :-D

Thanks for the idea. I was thinking of doing that anyways than taking out my sewing machine. Right now my desk is tooo small. Craft space is just limited, so forced to use my coffee table and it drives my fiance crazy.  Grin

These are all in the beginning stages of embroidery and embellishment. But I was trying to get all my ideas into the fabric so I can remember all of the things I want to try.

This one needs more embroidery between the alphabet.

More buttons.

Haven't decided what to do on this one yet and you can see how bad the corners are. My thought is that if I attach them to a background, like craftylittlemonkey, I can zigzag the heck out of them and make the corners a little better.

And here are 3 more. I did sew them on the machine first, and inserted a scrap of felt. I want flatter pieces, and I have tons of felt and fleece pieces. So if I can stay awake tonight, I'll continue to work on these. As I'm stitching, I think of more ideas so I am dedicating a small blank book (that I received from Santa in my stocking) and if I write them down so I don't have 20 poptarts started and no finished pieces.

OK "GoldenSunshine" I'll try explain what I do.  I have 2 different peices of fabric your choice. Wrong sides together, sew three sides, I do a small hand stitch, I do 1/2" I use regular thread, then I put the stuffing in not to much just spread it around in the pillow then sew the end shut same way you did the other sides. Next I fold over one side twice pin in place, then do that all the way around. The corners first I fold over the point then one side of corner (twice) pin & then the other side (twice). So they kind of meet like a picture frame corner. Then I get my embroidery thread & start sewing all around. Then I embelish it Kind of quilting it with what ever you want. I don't like to do it first because I want the quilting to be all the way through all layers. I hope this helps. I Like to do it by hand because then I can take the little pillows with me places & do it there while I'm waiting. It's very relaxing once you do a few. I know some poople like to embroidery first & embelish & that's fine. I just like the look when I quilt it afterwards.
Please don't feel stupid, this is why we're all here to help. Just keep asking!! If I do some tonight I'll take pics of me doing it put them in. I'm sure you'll do just fine. You need more help just ask. Can't wait to see what you make!! Wink

Great directions, Sharalee. And I think I need to make my edges a little bigger, then I can fold over twice. Sweet!
