I have been crocheting since I was tiny, about 18 years now. I can make hats, scarves, housewares, toys, and pretty much anything I put my mind to or have a pattern for--in other words, I have a pretty solid concept of the basics. But one thing I've never managed to complete is an afghan. I just get so bored and before I know it, the afghan is under the bed in my "too complete later box" and by the time I find it I can't remember how to finish it, where the pattern for it is, or where I even stopped. This year, however, a combination of ADD medication and a determination to give my Mamaw, who helped teach me to crochet, the best Christmas gift ever, led me to finally start and complete an afghan.

Isn't she beautiful?

As you can see it's not huge, but it's just the right size for her to hang over her chair, which is all she was going to do anyway. Smiley I got the pattern from the November/December Crochet Today! issue. I'm pretty happy with it, and she loves it! Now if I could only get around to finishing my five year old's baby blanket...

Aahhh, I have similar attention span issues, so I can totally relate.  You did an excellent job with this afghan. It's super pretty and super girly. Congratulations on completing it!
