Happy New Year, Hoopers!! It's been a while since our last Hoopla. Anyone interested in another round?

There were a whole bunch of fun suggestions in our last idea thread...

What do you think?

Okay so it seems to me that the main ideas ( simplified) from that thread were:

- The "mix and match an object" idea
- Music and movies idea
- Learn a new stitch idea
- Doodle Hoop idea
- Animal/mineral/vegetable list idea
- Century/Decade hoop idea
- Favourite Holiday idea

I think that's it... I like the animal/mineral/vegetable thing, and I am intrigued by the Doodle Hoop, however planning the hoop is half the fun so making it up as I go kind of frightens me. The mix and match object idea sounds challenging and interesting. I do really like the decade one, I can see myself making some 50's, 60's and cheesy 70's hoops.

Here are some more I just thought of right now -

- Silhouettes or Negative space hoops
- Conquer a Stitch Hoop - You decide a stitch that you want to focus on and that your partner likes and then try something new?
- "Sweet Thoughts" - Give your partner 5 things either quotes or images that give you sweet thoughts
-  "History repeats itself" - pick a style of stitching or period stitching from days gone by and make it fresh?

Allright I am tapped out of ideas for tonight... but I am excited for this again... I love this swap!

Oh wow, is it really 7 already? Lol I think the last one I did (before life got crazy) was 3 or 4. I need to go pull up the past galleries to see all the lovely work everyone did!

I'm game for a round 7.....I'll have to think about the themes being thrown around..
I will admit that I'm in love with the idea of negative space I've been so impressed by negative space pieces in the past, I've always wanted to try my own

I've been waiting for this. I thought I wasn't going to want to anymore hooplas but I've changed my mind. Here are the ideas that are up that I like best:
-Mix and Match
-Music and Movies
-Silhouettes/negative space, definitely, love using +/- space!
That's my favorite. When's the vote? AHA! I know, give it time... bah!

This sounds fun. I haven't done one of these yet! But I'd love to make one, I like to embroidery. It's very relaxing. I like the Animal/mineral/vegtable list idea & the Century/Decade hoop idea too. They're all good!! Cheesy

Just to toss another idea in the mix, what about an embellished fabric theme?

Keep the ideas and comments flowing! We'll give this thread another week or so and then I'll set-up a vote with all the suggestions that have been discussed.

I'm in again!  My hoopla wall is a big attraction to anyone visiting me and I need some more Wink

Plus, I've figured out that my glasses prescription needed updating - I can now see close up to hopefully be able to improve my stitching!

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

me! me! me! i'm interested!!! i'm down with any theme! (tho the embellished fabric thing sounds pretty cool- i saw several of those i liked the last couple rounds) i promised myself that this year i will dramatically downscale my craftstering for budgetary reasons; however i gave myself permission to continue to participate in hoopla and MAQ swaps. sooooo let's hoopla!!!!!   Cheesy
