Well since drawing the lines out and cutting alone them wont work for me (don't I just feel special now) I think I need to invest in baseball cards then! Thanks everyone.

Since we are now over 25 participants for January's swap, I have enlisted a co-organizer, gozer!  If you have any swap related questions or need an address that you haven't been able to get from your partner, either gozer or I can help you out now!  Thanks again, gozer, for being my co-organizer!

I have a silly questions. This is my first time doing ATC's and I'm not sure the best way to go about sorting them. With being said,  how does everyone organize there ATC's? I mean do you sort them by month received, theme, who the sender is, or any other way.

Thanks

I store mine by theme.  Its pretty much up to personal preference!

This is what I store my ATCs in.  Its waaaaaay fuller than when I posted this.  ^_^  Its almost reached its capacity.  But once I find a way to display my Harry Potter ABCs, it will gain a little space back.

Yes, I love that I'm not the only one thinking about this! I was totally agonizing over this issue last week when I got my first ATC, and I decided to scan everything and organize it digitally, so I can use and display the actual cards without regard to organizing them. Plus I need scans anyway to post on the gallery... So here's what I've  been doing, which groups them by theme and then sorts by date received:

  • Scan the ATCs I make before I sent them off. Annotate them with theme, title, and notes about techniques used (I use Photoshop for this...but any graphics editing program would do). I named the output file with the theme followed by the date made (e.g. "fairy_tales_01_18_2012.jpg") and put them in a folder called Sent ATC's. This also helps me give up cards I get attached to, since I have a high-res image of it still with me  Grin
  • When I receive an ATC, I scan it, add the title/theme/author, and use the same name scheme (theme and date), but save it in a separate folder Received ATC's. My reasoning is that since I have the actual cards, I can always go look up something on one of them.

Sorry if TMI, I can get a little crazy about organizing. And don't even get me started on clear plastic containers!
