Reduced Reused Revamped Recycled: Reloved Remnants

I bought some roving, a needle pen and mat about a month ago. I sort of practised, I felted and S onto an old table mat that was being pressed into service as a pocket on a patchwork bag. But that doesn't really count.

Then I got cookie cutters from Secret Santa and my first thought was NOT cookies but this, my first needle felt project:

Then I thought about getting a bit more adventurous and making something less chunky, more shaped, 3D and after an hour I had this

I was so surprised that the thin bits are nowhere near as fragile as they look that I'm considering playing more and trying to get something quite thin and gossamer like.

I may have found 'my thing'. About time as I've only benn looking for a year!

Congrats!!!

Cookie cutters make great molds for flat felting and even 3 dimensional objects!! Thin fiber when well felted is very strong!!  Cheesy
