The Elder Scrolls Swap (Sign-ups: 12/31/11 - 1/11/12, Send outs: 2/11/12)

Finished one item today!
Anyone else have constant trouble figuring out what size/how many points something should be? I can never tell!
I guess some things are obvious, like "oh, this scarf took me ten minutes to cut the fleece and applique a thing, it's one point/small" or "this is a giant blanket and took me three weeks it is a large/three points." But what if it took me 3+ hours (almost everything takes at least that long!), a bunch of extra supplies, and it's something normally on the list for a small?
I mean, I'll probably make three things just to ensure I cover it fairly, because I'd rather be a bit spoily than underpar, but still. I'm sure someone else has this problem, too!

I can not get it to work on my computer... It's all a jumbled mess of textures with the occasional object peeking through. All my menus and loading screens are perfect, though. Guess the fiance gets it since he's been pouting all day. Ugh.

Oh no! Hate to be "that person" but do you meet the specs to run it? It's not much higher than Oblivion, especially since it was made to be console-friendly, but I have a (cough*very*cough) high end laptop and it still runs pretty hot when playing Skyrim. Otherwise have you checked out the Steam help pages? A brand new game not working is one of the worst things in the world (except for, like, AIDS and kittens dying and stuff).


I know exactly how you feel, mouser882! I try to err on the spoiling side of caution but it is pretty hard. I guess that's why they're guidelines and not an "official" point system?

Being a computer dude, talk to me about your specs.
Sounds like a Graphics card issue to me.
While Skyrim looks better on PC (at least those of us with higher end cards) I honestly prefer it on my ps3. Controls just feel more natural. As already said, it seems to have been ported to the PC. I do believe the PC copy runs smoother  though.
But yeah, it really does suck. I've had to many games fall on their faces recently. (thank jebus for multi system porting)

EVERYTHING takes me a really long time because I'm not an avid crafter. Everything I do is new, fresh and difficult for me. Really, just use your best judgement. My other half over crafts for every swap she is in for that very reason....plus it's just what she does.

I should have the minimum requirements for it. I play World of Warcraft all the time with no issues. My guild leader told me it's probably a video card issue, so I guess I should update the drivers... At least if I absolutely can't get it to work on my computer I can always play on my fiance's. The like 2hours a day he isn't attached to it. Haha.

On more crafty terms, I usually just make a whole bunch of stuff until I feel like I would be satisfied receiving a package like that. The WoW swap I did a while back, I swear I sent like a 10 point package. So much stuff.

yeahhhh I just turned my ps3 off after another 6 hours of game play. Would have been 7 but I stopped to shower and pick up a little.

I have finished 1 thing. But that's what I get for trying to do everything at once.  But I congratulated myself by actually leaving the house last night for research...ok we were invited to go hang out round a campfire aka researching into the minds of modern day Norse... they were a hoot, it was most awesome.

Luckily you gave us a good chunk of time. I'm going through a harsh lack of motivation thing right now.
No cooking, no crafting, hardly gaming...kinda just sleep a lot right now.
