My first attempt at etching glass

So for my friends recent birthday, I decided to try something new, and I made her an etched glass candle holder.

I bought a plain ol' glass jar from walmart


Then I taped it off and put music note stickers and heart stickers (my friend teaches music so she loves it)




Next i coated everything in armor etch and left it for a few hours
After I washed it all off I had this




I was really happy how it came out, there were a few imperfections due to some bubbling in the tape but overall it came out well.

This is the finished product. I added some heart shaped pink and red stones, and then a Vanilla scented candle

I never thought of using stickers for stencils!!  Did they come off (relatively) easily when you were done?  I really like your final product, looks like a great gift =D

Thanks Yea the stickers came off surprisingly easy. I took them off when I washed off the etching cream so the water helped them to slip right off. I've used stickers to etch a few times since this post and some stickers work better than others. The plastic-y type like these are easiest to get clean lines. I've used paper ones and they some times make more of a mess than I had hoped for. Thanks for looking
