After Christmas crafting update!

I managed to make a few things in between seasonal retail work (oh joy)

A Yarn Tote that used up about a yard of stash.  It's big enough to hold three skeins of yarn and a mostly finished giant granny square:

A CD holder (pretty boring and self explanatory) that used up a little over half a yard.

And a bunch of little notebooks.  Lots and Lots, and there are still more to be made for after Christmas presents.

Still working on plans for next year's DeStash-Along, so if you have any ideas, speak up!

gaudiknight those little notebooks are amazing!

I didn't really use the challenges to my advantage this year. I can't remember it was done this year but how about a challenge for using some stash of a craft that either you haven't done in a long time or bought supplies for and never dived in and tried it?

Love those notebooks!  What did you use as a base?

I also love the CD holder...I wonder if circular needles would fit?  I need an easy solution to storing my circulars...

I think maybe a fun challenge would be to give a quantity to use up:

Like 1 yard of fabric, 2 skeins of yarn, 25 beads, etc.

You could do a Pinterest made from Stash Project.

How about a "make more than one" challenge?  Two hats, two bags, etc.

alwaysinmyroom - that's a great idea about trying circulars in there.  I can't ever get my circs organized.

Great ideas for challenges.  Maybe we should have multiple challenges during the months?

Okay, popping by with two quick housekeeping items.

1) The 2013 DeStash-Along thread has gone live!
2) You can continue to post 2012 projects here for the next few days, just in case it takes you a little while to get pictures.  I'll officially close us up on the 7th.  Does that seem reasonable?

Oh, and just because I'm finishing up small projects in drips and drabs - a teeny tiny sweater.  But it's still one less ball of yarn in stash.

I have finished some items for Christmass present, but have been to busy to take pictures and to post.  Embarrassed I have finished my spiderweb quilt (a gift to my brother), finished a very old WIP - a t-shirt for DH - made 4 scarves and a pair of wrist-warmers for my sister, my daughter and my 2 nieces,  and a pillow with a crocheted lace-band for the 3. niece, all from stash except the filling for the quilt. Maybee I will post it in a separate post, when I got the photos loaded.

It have been such a wonderfull inspiration to have this tread, and I will look foreward to meet you all on the 2013 thread. Thank you to Gaudyknight, and a happy New Year to you all!

Even with very little internet access this thread is one I make sure to visit any time I'm somewhere with internet! You are all such inspirations and the crafts continue to light the proverbial fire under my crafting butt so thank you all So Very Much and I sure do look forward to continuing on in the new year! Here are a few of the things that I've finished up in recent weeks:

Recycled tshirt dresses and some stencilled shirts for kids:

cashmere monster stuffy for a friend's new baby:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=418507.0

weird sock creature thingy for a friend to take to a white elephant party (apparently this was the most fought over thing at the party, lol):

I found this amazing embroidery panel at a thrift store and had to do something with it so now it's my new holiday bag.

At the same time I scored 2 amazing cross stitch pieces that I framed and gave as gifts, they were so cute and so much work I couldn't believe someone did them and then just gave them away! I didn't get pics of them but one said "Our laundry room has the latest dirt" and the other said "You are welcome (and a lower down line was) to clean up" ha ha ha ha ha!

Felix the Fox tea towel stuff door stop thing:

(Purchased the fabric for this here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/104867585/felix-the-fox-tea-towel-cloth-kit-a)

Xmas always sees the gift of new crayons we melted our old ones down into crayon cakes, this kids thought this was the coolest thing ever so we'll have to do it again next year Smiley.
