The yarn you chose looks really cool as a scarf, Michelle.

Kook, i tried to comment on your blog, but my phone didn't want me to. You nailed it with your mermaid. She definitely belongs in the Caribbean. My nieces would love a doll like that. And that seahorse fabric.

Anti, i strive to reach your level of thriftiness someday.

Getting back to mermaids and my nieces... The 6-year-old turns 7 in two weeks, and Ariel is her favorite Disney princess. You may remember the "horse of a different color" slippers i made for the 4-year-old earlier this year, and I've not yet made any for the 6-year-old... Unacceptable. So, here are her Ariel-inspired slippers. Red for her hair, purple for her shell bra, aqua for her tail.

I hope they will fit her long, skinny feet. Smiley

I added some wings to a hat today to make a Thor hat of sorts... Only used up a small amount of felt, but i have so much and every little bit counts. Check it out here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=412444.0

Michelle--what a lovely color combo!  The scarf and Blythe hat are very nice!  Do you remember what the black and white yarn was?  It looks tweedy...(and yeah, I want some!) Cheesy

The Ariel slippers are also a great color combo...I am sure she will love them!

I think it's Red Heart Stripes. It came from my Mom's stash and didn't have a label.

Given away and very much loved, lol. I gave it to a strange friend, it suits him very well.

Oops, forgot to mention that the head is a super ball I lifted from my kid's toy collection! LOL, that's the best part.
And the leg is a milagro from Mexico.
Ya, the whole thing is really weird. I tried out a bunch of new techniques and made some other ones up along the way. It was fun! It's amazing, the small universe you create when you're working with such tiny components. I imagine making that sort of thing in actual human size and it blows my mind! Now, that I'd love to try.

It's incredible! It just begs to have stories made about (umm, err) her. Or him, I don't think it is suitable anymore....
