Here is some Before's and After's of the new floor my son and I installed (which I blogged about EXTENSIVELY!)

Breakfast Room Before

Breakfast Room After

Living Room Before

Living Room After

The whole house is about 1750 sq. ft. of living space and I could only work on it a few days at a time. I did the measuring and laying and son did the cutting (the Dremel tool is your friend!!!)

We are now working on putting in new trim and then will paint - I know some will say that is backwards (painting AFTER a new floor) but momma had the flooring first before she got the paint Smiley Besides, all the rooms she painted first before we took out the icky carpet - got totally messed up and will have to repaint the bottom half anyway... so this works out much better.

Once I know my recipient has received her granny squares from the swap, I will post pics Smiley

Nice work COL  Smiley

This is the start of my rug. It's about an 8" square in the middle of a 3' x 5' piece of hessian  Cheesy gimme time, I'll get there. The most time consuming job is cutting the strips of fabric. It would be much easier if I was using cotton or poly/cotton as I could tear the long strips and then just cut them into 3" pieces but this is a polyester knit so I have to cut it. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers as the saying goes and as the fabric was free I won't complain  Grin

Look at it as if you have to use scissors to cut it - then you KNOW your handmade rug will last through quite a bit! I am anxious to see it finished!!!

(hah - as I am sure you are anxious to see it finished too!!!)

COL, your revamped rooms and new floors look great!
Kookaloo, I do like the color of your rug in progress.
I'm destashing an easi-art maker-think something like an easy bake oven, but for crafts, like poly clay, shrinky dink, and baking glass paint on ceramics. Made for kids, but looked potentially useful. I bought it for very little when a parent-teacher store went out of business a few years ago, and have never even taken it out of the box. So, it's getting sent to a friend of mine who will use it! I'm adding a few jars of acrylic paint for her, too.

I definitely will use that pincushion tutorial!  I am furiously working away at one of my scrap baskets before cutting up more fabric!

guadiknight--I also like short scarves...and your pillowcases continue to inspire me to use up fabrics I purchased and no longer have anything specific in mind to make (I used to buy a lot of one yard pieces to make purses but I am sort of over purses...)

craftyoldlady--wow--you have a lot going on with your new place...it is looking nice and homey!

interested to see the rug done--I imagine it will take hours of cutting alone!

lovesclutter--did you use those cards for a room in your wee house?  What a great and fun idea!

I should start making pillowcases, too! I always have extra pillows on the bed, and need more than what comes with the sheets, and I have some small pieces of fabric that I have no clue what to do with. *adds it to the list*

Some teeny tiny de-stashing at
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=369575.msg4812791#msg4812791

and there'll be a bit more de-stashing when I finish today's project (too much unpicking to finish today Sad)

And then I joined another swap, so that'll lead to a bit more de-stashing too Smiley

One more project finished before my trip on Friday.

The face and teeth were made for another DOTD sock monkey but were much too big to fit so have been hanging around waiting to be a bigger pair of socks, lol. Finally. He's way cute, no idea who he's going to but it will have to be someone I really, really love and thinks deserves 5 hours of my finger blistering stitchery, ha.
