I learned how to crochet (or re-crochet) after not doing it for over 30 years...I have had so many people help me, but I will always be a novice...but, I love doing it and I can make stuff, so that is a big accomplishment for me...I have given up on jewelry...just not my thing...

Can't wait to see scarves, ugly or not!

I frogged and re-knit the huge Tychus hat (the blue and white one) last night...what a waste of time...the hat was only an inch or two smaller and still does not fit anyone I know...I think I will throw it in the charity box.

I'm having the opposite problem, having run out of wool for my shawl I've commenced the crocodile stitch hat, the pattern suggests using a 4mm hook, I'm using a 5.5mm hook and the hat won't fit my abnormally large head, I know I'm a tight hooker but seriously this is not funny, so it will go in the gift box for someone with a smaller head.

I need one of those hanging laundry bags -- mine are on the floor and I trip over them almost daily.

I'm finding it fun to re-discover crafts that I had learned in my youth but hadn't done since. Like embroidery and crochet. I do think people can have a "knack" for certain crafts (and conversely, a tough time learning others). I usually focus on the ones that are personally more "intuitive" (or enjoyable, or whatever)...  Of course, I don't deny being lazy, either!

I've been on a cleaning/organizing binge this week. This morning I finished up the second of two storage closets that holds packing materials, broken-down boxes for moving/shipping, craft supplies/projects that won't fit in the craft room or that I don't have ideas for yet, magazines for cutting up, picture frames waiting for their pictures, boxes of patterns and yarn, etc etc.

I'm also planning to set up a permanent photo tent in there. I want to also organize my fabric with the comic book backings like was posted earlier...but I'll be using cut up boxes that are too small or flimsy to keep

I always feel more like crafting when I know everything is organized!! Maybe this will be the push I need to get some craftiness done.

I finally made something, yay! Just dotees and a few Teesha Moore style patches for swaps though. Nary a stash dent was made, lol. I've got a few more scraps assembled for more patches and eventually I'll tackle something big. You guys are embarrassing me with your explosions of creativity compared to my puny effort. Winter is kicking my butt though, for reals.

I made a Steampunk/Neo-Victorian doll using items entirely from the stash.  I actually made this last year, but hadn't posted photos before.

As you saw in my last post that I made a doll with a top hat. I loved the hat so much that I decided that little hats all over my Christmas tree would look great. So I made some more hats.  Everything used to make these hats comes from the stash.

Each hat uses about 3/4 of a fat quarter of fabric.  The hats are also lined.
I plan the keep making little hats until I get I get bored of making them.
