...Oh yes, with each project you will get much better and faster...it is great that you jumped in and did it!!!  You should be proud...but, uh, isn't that going to make you want a BIGGER stash?

Haha, probably!  But I got several skeins from my future MIL for xmas in 2010, along with a huge awesome role of about 30 different needle sets (most of them the nice metal ones) and a bunch of "accessories," like a pom maker, gauge, stitch markers, etc.  I need to work through all of that yarn first!  Which at my speed will take me a long long time.  Plus I told her about my plan to not buy any crafty stuff this year and she told me that if I need anything for a specific project I should just go "shopping" at her house because she has so much stuff.  I'm sure I can put off growing my stash for a least a while that way.

Yesterday my stash got even bigger, my nan gave me ANOTHER bag of yarns to be getting through lol, she swears that the old ladies in her home gave her all the rubbish noone else wants because she's registered blind but I'm in awe, there's some beautiful blue in there that I can use to finish off my pineapple shawl - it's not the same blue but it will compliment.
Anyway, I've moved on to february and I've made a gift for a loved one. It was my aunties birthday on sunday and she is an AVID Northampton Saint's supporter, they are season ticket holders and go to the games almost every weekend.
For anyone who isn't familiar, this is an image of their kit:

Given the recent snow I think this is a more appropriate present than I gave thought to, I'm holding the scarf up in that image and I'm 5'7", my auntie is 4'11" (and a half if you ask her). She was thrilled and her words were "I'm definitely wearing this to the next game, oh sod it, I'll wear it to go shopping in this afternoon".

This afternoon I spent some quality time with my purple yarn, sorting out the full skeins from the odd balls and then winding those odd balls into one giant double stranded ball for use for either a poncho or cardi for myself - should be interesting 

I also spent some time winding yarn for a swap item.

Love the huge ripple scarf, I bet it wraps around your Auntie twice and keeps her warm as toast

What a cute way to use up little bits of cute fabric, plaidpineapple!  The journal cover is very crafty and useful!
