I'm organizing the studio today, I uncovered a large box of odds and ends given to me by well-meaning friends, sigh. The destashing never does end. Never, ever, ever...

awww CLM...it does almost seem futile...I found 22 pairs of jeans in my candle closet!!!  I know I was saving them for a quilt, but the thought of cutting them all up just depressed me so I shoved them back in... Sad

I want to stay positive and make happy fun things, not stuff because I saved too much junk in my past! Cheesy

I am pretending that I have to move in three months to a tiny condo on the beach...what crafting stuff would I take? Cheesy  It makes it a lot easier to let go! Cheesy

LaughingLark, I love that cat bed! I've got a sack of clothes that I need to turn into t-shirt yarn still, so maybe I can get to that this weekend and whip up another pet bed and get it out of my room.

Red is perfect for February since it is also Women's Heart Awareness month!

I want to make a bunch of red hearts and leave them randomly at different places to make people aware...
What a great idea. I've got a friend with heart disease, and i'd like to send her something. Maybe i'll send her a bunch of hearts. Smiley

Expect to see neckwarmers and hats coming soon  Roll Eyes

We may all be here forever, but I kind of like it in a way. I love being able to craft something on whim right away, instead of after I find time to get to a store.

On the other hand, some of my stuff I look at and think, I am never going to use this, and then feel guilty, because at some point and time I spent money on it.

Most of my stash is donated/gifts, if I had to buy my yarn & fabric I'd never get anything made! When I do buy its from the charity shops or bargain bins.

The hats and neckwarmers won't be anything exciting, they're for hubby and his bro to wear under their welding helmets to absorb sweat and catch spatter. Very quick & dirty because they only live a few weeks.
I do have plans for rainbow armwarmers for myself though  Wink

Wow! A week away and there's 49pages! Just been catching up on people's creations, I love the crocheted fan bookmark, I made that once before it's so simple but beautiful. I've not finished my shawl still because I've had a whiplash injury to my left shoulder and I'm a left hander - typical!! Work have signed me off because I'm basically useless as a nurse in intensive care if I can't even lift a bowl of water or bag of fluids! But I'm going to try as I may to start crocheting again. For Feb I plan on making a green/black/yellow scarf for my aunties birthday (which is on sunday ARGH!) Something red and possibly polka dotted for me, maybe a bag, I adore polka dots.

What a wonderful addition to you stash. I'm just a little jealous of that.

Most of my stash is yarn. I'm not the fastest crocheter on the block. But it will all get used "someday". hahaha

Still working on those headband/earwarmer thingies. Don't know the right name. I've had family down from Minnesota this week so I haven't been crafting too much.

I think we all know the feeling of the overwhelming stash - but maybe we should make ourself remember: we own the stash, the stash doesn't own us. We can throw it all out, if it is that we want. It may help us to see it as a treasure, a bunch of opportunities, instead of a burden. Because it is a good thing, we have all that - it is much better than having nothing.
